Small Matters in Kratie

During my teaching in Cambodia, I took a vacation to travel around the country with my colleague Zhang Qing. In a remote village in Kratie province, we encountered a group of Cambodian school children by chance. In the short period of time we spent with them, we tried to teach these children, though they had never been exposed to Chinese, to sing a Chinese song; to practice a set of Chinese martial arts; to count in Chinese during the rope skipping game ... I wondered if this pleasant encounter would plant a seed of learning Chinese in their hearts.
