Information Sources: chinanews.com

Su Qian, an overseas student from Bolivia, learned about China through the joint construction of the "Belt and Road", curious about the mysterious country. To study and live in China, she began to study Chinese at the University of San Simón in Bolivia in 2019. After four years, she passed the corresponding Chinese proficiency test and applied for scholarship to study in China. In August 2023, Su Qian came to Qinhuangdao, China, and studied at Hebei Institute of International Business and Economics.

Su Qian's initial impression was that Chinese people are hospitable. Her classmates took the initiative to help the freshman, and showed her the cafeteria and the supermarket. They also left their phone numbers, so that they can be reached at any time if she had something urgent.

Su Qian's mother country has no access to sea, so she was so excited to see it in Qinhuangdao. She also climbed up the Great Wall of China that she saw online. Su Qian said that it was her first time to celebrate the Chinese New Year in China. She knew that the dragon was a symbol of China. She felt lucky to spend the Year of the Dragon in China when she first celebrated the Chinese New Year. "During the Chinese New Year, the teachers organized international students to make dumplings together, so great."
