Information Sources: Center for Language Education and Cooperation
My name is Bobo, and I am a Rwandan who likes to sing Chinese songs. I have loved Chinese culture, especially Chinese kung fu, since I was young. I studied Chinese language every day since high school. Hard work pays off to those who make efforts. In 2016, I won the championship in the middle school group of the "Chinese Bridge" competition at the Confucius Institute in Rwanda.
I have delved into China, especially through short videos online. They are so interesting, and I want to show myself with Chinese language. In 2020, I started recording Chinese song videos to introduce customs and traditions of Rwanda and even Africa to Chinese friends. Many Chinese netizens commented and requested specific songs, and some said, "You have changed my perception of Africans."

I used to understand China through Chinese songs. Today, I saw the real China in Nanjing. Finally, I could visit another country, and change my life through Chinese language. In the future, I will have a better understanding when singing Chinese songs.
Now I have organized a team of eight members. I teach them Chinese and sing Chinese songs every day. Now, I have nearly 10 million followers on TikTok, my short videos have been played hundreds of millions of times. I have made money from it, changed my family life, and helped many children from poor families. This is the change that Chinese has brought me.
