"Center for Chinese Language and Professional Skills" at Thai-Chinese Rayong Industrial Zone: University-Enterprise Cooperate to Cultivate International Talents and Contribute to the "Belt and Road"

The "Center for Chinese Language and Professional Skills" at Thai-Chinese Rayong Industrial Zone was jointly built by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) of the Ministry of Education of China, Thai-Chinese Rayong Industrial Zone and Zhejiang Financial College. The unveiling ceremony of the Program was held on December 26, 2023 in Thai-Chinese Rayong Industrial Zone, Thailand.

Zhao Bin, President of Thai-Chinese Rayong Industrial Zone, stated that as a platform for Chinese manufacturing companies to invest in Thailand, the Zone helps Chinese "going global" enterprises establish themselves in Thailand, especially in talent reserve and supply. The approved CLEC "Center for Chinese Language and Professional Skills" program is an important measure for university-enterprise cooperation to cultivate talents. He hoped to see that in the future, universities and enterprises will work together to construct "Center for Chinese Language and Professional Skills" in a high-quality manner, to strengthen cooperation and exchanges with Thai vocational colleges, to carry out special training on "Chinese + TVET" such as Chinese language, finance and taxation, online marketing, big data, etc. according to the actual needs of enterprises in the Zone. While improving the vocational skills of local vocational college teachers, students, and enterprise employees, it will enhance Thai people's perception, appreciation, and sense of identity toward Chinese culture.

Jin Yanghua, Chairman of the University Council of Zhejiang Financial College, said that among the first batch of national economic and trade cooperation zones overseas, the Zone provides a series of comprehensive services for Chinese enterprises and their local employees investing in Thailand, so as to introduce Chinese enterprises and China's high-quality vocational education to the world. He hoped to see that universities and the Zone, based on the existing cooperation foundation, join hands in a positive and interactive manner to develop. Guided by the CLEC, they should jointly develop the education standards and resources of "Chinese + TVET", carry out "Chinese + TVET" training, create a high-quality brand of "Center for Chinese Language and Professional Skills", and contribute strength to the "Belt and Road".

After the unveiling ceremony, the Center held the first session of "Chinese + TVET" training. The principal of the secondary college under Zhejiang Financial College conducted special training on "AIGC: The Future is Here" and "Cross-border E-commerce Digital Marketing Cases and Thinking" to representatives of enterprises in the Zone, and teachers and students of Bankhai Technical College, Thailand.

The "Center for Chinese Language and Professional Skills" jointly built by Thai-Chinese Rayong Industrial Zone and Zhejiang Financial College, and approved by the CLEC, adopts an international model of "Chinese + TVET" integrating vocational skills training, international Chinese language education, cultural exchange between China and foreign countries, local college faculty training, and R&D of Chinese and Thai teaching resources. Based on the talent needs of China-invested enterprises in Thailand, and the needs of local social and economic development, it provides a solid talent guarantee for the national construction of the "Belt and Road", and the training and management of local skilled talents of enterprises in the Zone.
