Center for Chinese Language and Professional Skills at Lamikal Co., Ltd.: Two-way Empowerment for International Progress of "Chinese + TVET"

Guided by the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC) of the Ministry of Education of China, the "Center for Chinese Language and Professional Skills" at Lamikal Co., Ltd. was jointly established by Norin Mining and Shandong Business Institute. By strengthening the professional Chinese proficiency and job competence of local employees, it has cultivated a group of local talents proficient in skills, Chinese language and culture. Since its inception, this "Chinese + TVET" characteristic classroom has trained local employees of the enterprise with Chinese language, traditional Chinese culture, and professional skills, and a large number of high-quality versatile skilled talents who understand language, culture, and skills for the local community.

Train local employees 

The "Center for Chinese Language and Professional Skills" has trained over 500 local employees in four major occupations and six themes, and solved technical problems such as mechanical and electrical equipment maintenance, electrotechnics and electronics, and metal product maintenance. It develops national vocational standards of Tanzania, establishes a "Chinese + International Economics and Trade" teaching resource library, and jointly develops "Chinese + Mining" course resources with the Confucius Institute at Congolese Diplomatic Academy. By building multilingual vocational education resources, it provides accurate language materials for training.

Dispatch outstanding teachers to the "Center for Chinese Language and Professional Skills"

To effectively address language and technical deficiencies of local employees faced by the enterprise, we further promote the construction and development of the industry-education training center and the "Center for Chinese Language and Professional Skills", select outstanding teachers for the Center, accelerate the completion and launching of it, as well as comprehensively carry out skills and technical training for local employees, and language and cultural exchanges. With the full cooperation of the frontline and domestic teams, after more than a month, we have completed the research on teaching and training needs in six major factory areas, designed and developed three professional course systems, and fully prepared for offline teaching and physical operation. With Chinese language as a bridge of communication, we have launched substantive teaching of "Chinese + TVET" characteristic classrooms, and implemented situational, on-site, and practical teaching. We have cultivated a group of local talents proficient in skills, Chinese language and culture for the enterprise, improved their job competence, and vigorously supported Chinese enterprises to develop overseas in a long-term manner.

Serve local economic and social development

The Center carries out traditional Chinese cultural and volunteer activities to provide language training for local communities, edits and publishes Chinese Vocabulary Handbook of Center for Chinese Language and Professional Skills at Lamikal Co., Ltd. for local residents, and establishes a Chinese language radio station in its territory to promotes people-to-people communication between China and Congo, which were warmly welcomed by local community.

Organize local backbone to study in China

The Center held an advanced training course for the team leaders of the Norin Mining and Congo (Kinshasa) program, entitled "Experience Chinese Intelligent Manufacturing and Chinese Civilization". The one-week offline training program for outstanding team leaders from Congo offered courses in advanced technologies such as digital payment and live streaming sales, food analysis, industrial photography, web design, laser engraving and other skills. Combined with on-site cultural experience in Yantai Mountain and Yangma Island, it showcased the charm of Chinese culture to students in multiple forms and channels.

The establishment of the "Center for Chinese Language and Professional Skills" demonstrates Lamikal's adherence to the values of sustainability and mutual growth, and its commitment to making localized operations an important development goal. Through continuous cultural exchange and deep integration between China and Congo, the Center has built a broad platform for language and cultural exchange between China and Congo, as well as for the professional skills level of local employees.
