"This Is Exactly the Career I Want to Pursue for the Long-term."

In May 2024, Peng Liyuan, wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping visited the Hungarian-Chinese Bilingual School in Budapest, accompanied by Anikó Lévai, wife of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán. 

For Karsai Zsuzsanna, a local Chinese language teacher, the visit was a special moment in her career. Recalling that day, she is still excited now. As a Chinese language teacher, she is proud to see her students have the opportunity to communicate freely with Ms. Peng Liyuan in the classroom.

At present, Karsai Zsuzsanna is a lecturer for the China Profile course at the Hungarian-Chinese Bilingual School. Her teaching career began as a teaching assistant during a college internship. It was from then that she decided to become a Chinese language teacher. After winning an International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship, Karsai Zsuzsanna went to Fudan University to study for her master's degree in international Chinese language education. Upon completing her studies, she returned to the Hungarian-Chinese Bilingual School and continued to engage in the Chinese language education she loved. 

At the Hungarian-Chinese Bilingual School, Karsai Zsuzsanna advocated the teaching concept of natural language acquisition, allowing children to learn Chinese in an immersive language environment as if they were learning their mother tongue. According to the language level and schooling grade of students, she carefully selected appropriate teaching topics, and stimulated students' learning interest by introducing rich and colorful Chinese cultural elements. 

With more than ten years of teaching, Karsai Zsuzsanna has accumulated a wealth of experience in Chinese language education, and can handle her classes with greater ease and proficiency now. Talking about the job of Chinese language teaching, she exclaimed: "This is exactly what I want to do in the long run."
